This project has been completed.
Minehead Road Day Centre was the first day centre to benefit from refurbishment works and was completed in June 2017.
The focus was to provide a high quality environment for those with high care and support needs and a low or stable level of dementia or functional mental illness.
Cardiff Council and Welsh Government funded the improvement work to improve the delivery of different types of care within the building, which included an enhanced dementia-friendly environment.
The works included:
- Refurbishing the main hall and adding new furniture
- Upgrading the heating system
- Adding a new fully accessible wet room
- Adding new disabled toilets
- Redecorating activity rooms
- Improving signage and the building exterior
- Adding Security fencing to side of building to support outdoor activities
- Adding outdoor furniture
